What is a relative clause?
A relative clause follows its antecedent directly, is enclosed by commas and places the conjugated verb at the end.
- Das ist die Frau, die nebenan wohnt.
- Ich lese das Buch, das du empfohlen hast.

The relative pronoun agrees with the antecedent in gender and number.

Fixed combinations
A required preposition stays immediately before the relative pronoun.
- Das ist die Stadt, in der ich geboren bin.
- Der Kurs, an dem ich teilnehme, ist online.
- Die Kollegin, mit der ich spreche, kommt später.
