Two verbs
The verb bracket
The conjugated modal verb occupies position 2. The second verb remains in the infinitive at the end.
- Ich kann heute länger bleiben.
- Wir müssen die Aufgabe noch lösen.
- Mia will in Berlin studieren.

Special forms
Modal verbs in the singular
Many modal verbs change their stem vowel in the singular. The first and third person singular have no ending.
